Red Herring 100 Winner
May 11, 2005
Reactrix Media Systems, a developer of a pioneering, interactive in-store media, today announced that it has been named one of the Red Herring 100 Private Companies of North America.
"Five years after the dot-com bubble burst, innovation and entrepreneurship are thriving. The companies on this list are proof," said Red Herring editor-in-chief Joel Dreyfuss.
Reactrix' breakthrough visioning technology actually "sees" and responds to consumers' movements as they interact with programmed brand content. Retailers can create an immersive experience and deliver entertaining, interactive content via network to major retail, mall and entertainment venues.
Reactrix was recently incorporated into three of the table tops at the newly-opened McDonald's 50th Anniversary restaurant in Chicago, Illinois. Additionally, in the last six months Reactrix has launched new pilot network media programs with Sam Goody, Media Play and AMC Theaters, and appeared with AOL at the Super Bowl and the 77th Annual Academy Awards™ ceremony in February.
"Reactrix offers its clients a way to create unique, personal and memorable brand experiences for their customers. Our technology literally immerses consumers in a brand story and engages them for unprecedented periods of time," said Mike Ribero, CEO, Reactrix. "We are thrilled to be selected by Red Herring, also a leader in innovation, as one of its top private companies."
Red Herring's lists of private companies are an important part of the magazine's tradition of identifying new and innovative technology companies and entrepreneurs. Companies like Google and eBay were spotted in their early days by Red Herring editors as those that would change the way we live and work.
Red Herring's editorial staff rigorously evaluated more than 900 private companies through a careful analysis of financial data and subjective criteria, including quality of management, execution of strategy, and dedication to research and development. Red Herring 100 companies will be presenting their business model and strategy at the Red Herring Spring conference. Red Herring Spring will take place May 17-19 at the Monterey Plaza Hotel in Monterey, California.
